Hibbs Homes has been building homes in St Louis for what is closing in on a decade, and in that time we have had the pleasure of working in and getting to know a lot of neighborhoods all over the metro-area. So we weren’t too terribly surprised when Forbes voted St Louis as one of the ‘Ten Best Cities to Invest in a Home‘ in 2012.

In fact, they aren’t the first well respected magazine to mention St Louis or it’s suburbs in one of their ‘Best’ lists lately – Bloomberg BuisnessWeek named St Louis suburb Crestwood, MO as one of the best places to raise a family earlier this year. It is really nice to see St Louis getting some positive attention as more people are learning what many of us already know – and a good reason why we enjoy building homes here so much – St Louis is really a great place to live, work, and play.

With this most recent nod from Forbes and so much buzz about how there is no better time to buy a home, it really points to the fact that it is a great time to build a new home in St Louis. St. Louis is known to be a great town for in-fill building, or building a new home in place of an older home, because many of the aging properties around town can really end up being a steal. Couple that with the financial edge buyers are seeing now with property values and financing rates, and building a home in your favorite neighborhood is a much more reasonable option than it was almost 10 years ago.

And another great advantage of investing in a new home – lower cost of living, and more free time to enjoy all of the great attractions within minutes of most of our neighborhoods!
